41 Goods Station Road

The existing site at 41 Goods Station Road was formerly used as a Travis Perkins storage yard and contained a single pitch portal framed building connected to an adjoining glasswork building.

CBL were appointed as the Structural Engineer on this project to assist in both the demolition and disconnect from the existing Glassworks building along with the site strip out. Following this there were 31 new units to be provided over three blocks on the site, 1 being terraced buildings, the other two being three and a half storey flats.

Complications of this site were that a nearby railway tunnel ran close the site, there were party wall constraints and buried obstacles throughout and also complicated ground conditions.

This site is currently in the Construction phase however CBL have been praised for their forward-thinking approaches taken with regards to the existing and proposed elements.
