ETOILE DU NORD

This bespoke individual dwelling designed by Architects 'MooArc' sits enveloped by the surrounding landscape above Vazon bay. The building opens up to an almost entirely glazed North façade maximising the effect of the panoramic views across the Bay. This full height glazing, when combined with flexible large open living spaces, will allow for a unique environment in which to appreciate this impressive vista.

The road-side façade is primarily of traditional masonry construction, to provide the required ‘mass’ to the building, whilst a more lightweight and slender steel frame was chosen for the core structure, providing the flexible open living space required by both clients and Architect.

The structure comprises a braced steel frame over two floors with a composite concrete first floor and insulated steel roof deck, to provide the required thermal mass for the building. The first floor accommodation is then accessed by a cantilever glass open tread staircase.
