SOUTHAMPTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LTD
CBL Consulting Ltd have been involved in a number of projects within Southampton Airport. A short selection of these are:

Fire Training - The Fire training ground at Southampton International Airport was reaching the end of its service life, and CBL Consulting ltd were asked to assist in the civil and structural design of a substantial upgrade to provide a new training rig for the future. A completely new simulator and training rig to reflect better the aircraft serving the airport has been installed and is currently undergoing final commissioning.
Works undertaken by CBL included the redesign and alterations of the drainage system to comply with current legislation and environmental permits; upgrades, repairs, additions and alteration to the paving and foundations for the new control structures. CBL also undertook swept path tracking analyses to ensure that the revised routing for the specialist fire trucks is maintained.

Runway Drainage - CBL Consulting are working with Southampton International Airport Ltd on the rehabilitation of their existing runway drainage. Following other recent successful schemes at the airport, and preliminary and feasibility studies, a detailed scheme has been prepared for tender working within constraints relating to operational hours, existing services, water tables and external environmental factors to ensure that the airport has a robust, durable and maintainable system for the coming decades.
