Guernsey’s replacement slaughterhouse was procured on a design & build basis as the original Victorian building was no longer fit for purpose.

HVC LTD constructed the scheme which utilized a piled and thickened raft foundation on a deep reclaimed land site.  A fully galvanised steel superstructure over was provided for this exposed site.  The site is very heavily serviced for wash down and cleaning and provision of shallow ground beams reduced clashes across the site.
