PEH Phase 1 Project Update

Phase 1 of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital Modernisation Project comprises a single-storey Critical Care Unit (CCU) being constructed as an extension to the existing Ozanne ward which is also undergoing refurbishment as part of the works. In addition to this, the project also includes a tiered, two storey structure which forms the new Post-Anaesthesia Recovery Unit (PACU) by infilling an existing courtyard.

Works commenced on site in March 2022 and to date works to both transformer buildings have drastically progressed with the GEL Substation nearing completion. Substructure and retaining wall work for the PACU has been undertaken and construction to the CCU recently started with ground beams to the right-hand side of the extension having been fully cast.
